There are references to it's predecessor Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus. Terrorists from Russia, North Korea and Pakistan have formed a alliance, which they call KPR. The KPR alliance declares war on the United States of America. After the defeat of the U.S. defense apparatus they invaded the US and deployed several weapons of mass destruction to American Cities. The game starts in Los Angeles. As Corporal James Walker you have to infiltrate the NSA-building and secure important intel. After a few missions you will be taken to Phantom Unit to Alaska, where you have to locate a missed group and determine the enemy's course of action. You then invade Pakistan to retrieve the Phantom unit who have been captured. A nuclear missile is launched to destroy Seattle. As prisoners of KPR, Phantom Unit needs to destroy all nuclear bombs and end the KPR threat once and for all.
